EcoDuct Transformative Ductwork Technologies – a significant step on the road to NET ZERO
All new developments, including new build, refurbishments, commercial, industrial or residential – and all stakeholders in the development process, including developers, estate managers and advisors, contractors, designers and building services engineers, need to seriously consider CO2 reduction strategies as part of the drive to Net Zero.
This strategy needs to go beyond traditional building materials and identify opportunities in mechanical services, especially HVAC, a major contributor of both embodied and operational carbon in the built environment.
Carbon offsetting provides an excuse for avoiding real emission reductions and can create a dangerous mirage of ‘climate neutrality’ when emissions are actually rising. It can also lead to greater emissions once carbon is re-released into the atmosphere from temporary stores. EcoDuct firmly believes that it is far better to reduce the CO2 embodied in the construction process through a better choice of materials.
The use of EcoDuct, the foremost transformative ductwork technology in the UK, can reduce the embodied carbon of an HVAC system by up to 75% and the operational carbon (through energy savings) by up to 45% (up to 13.5% of the overall energy costs of a building). It is fully compliant with all relevant standards and building regulations and offers optimal performance, including fire/smoke, thermal efficiency, airflow efficiency and material safety.
